Vindantrue
Worshippers of the true creator, Vindantrue, believe that maintaining the balance
between good and evil is crucial to sustaining life. Should the scales tip too far
one way or the other, Vindantrue will intervene to restore the balance. If not for
Vindantrue, day would never turn to night, and night would never turn to day. He
is also credited for the changing of the seasons. Followers of Vindantrue walk a
fine line between light and darkness, never veering far from the path. The god
himself is a mysterious figure. His true form is unknown, but he is most commonly
depicted as a pair of perfectly balanced scales. Vindantrue is the embodiment of
true neutrality.

Kaelia
Before recorded time, Vindantrue created the universe and darkness filled the
void. Energy and power surrounded him as he fell into a deep sleep and
dreamed of a dark seductress. With her newly found powers she wiled her way
into his heart and from his dreams into the infant universe. As a gift to Kaelia,
the creator's seductress, Vindantrue created light. This light took the form of
Khelben and became Kaelia's rival almost instantly. Because of their power,
Kaelia and Khelben's fighting threatened to unravel the fragile universe
Vindantrue had worked to create. They were seperated into night and day,
Kaelia stealing some of Khelben's light with her trickery to create the stars
and light the night sky with her moon. Their battle can still be seen with the
waxing and waining of the moon. Followers of Kaelia live in a world of
darkness surrounded by dreams. They care little for others and take what
they want regardless of the consequences.

Khelben
Trusting in Khelben's faith is adhering to the belief in a benevolent and
organized society where civil service and self-sacrifice are among the most
noble of virtues. Khelben's followers tend to hold themselves to a formal code
of honor, moral purity, justice, and a dedication to the sanctity of life. They
believe that only through close organization can society, and one's own soul,
stand against the unrelenting predation of the dark forces. While some are
quiet and others vocal, all Khelben's followers are determined crusaders for a
better, more humane way of life. Worshippers of Khelben excel at healing
and defensive magics. Khelben constantly struggles against Kaelia much
as the sun and moon struggle for dominance of the sky.
